How to rekindle the fire that burns inside . . .

You are fundamentally an energetic being and you respond to your environment.  Every cell in your body has organelles known as mitochondria that extract nutrients from the foods that you eat and make energy though a biochemical process known as cellular respiration.  These energy “power plants” are more accurately defined as ancient microbes that have coevolved with us and are constantly scanning our environment.  They are very abundant in energy demanding organs like your brain, heart, eyes and sex organs.

Besides the foods that you eat, your cells respond to the lights that you surround yourself with every day.  Sunlight is the most effective and powerful way to enhance your mitochondrias’ function.   In his paper, The 4th Phase of Water, Dr. Gerald Pollack explains that this photoelectric effect occurs when light is absorbed by water in our cells. This effect changes the structure of water and creates Exclusion Zones (EZs) or areas of charged water (H3O2 instead of H20).  This negative charge increases the mitochondrial membrane potential and improves mitochondrial function.  Think of this negative charge as stored energy.  Essentially, your skins melanin (the archetypal pigment molecule) can provide up to 90% of the cell’s energy needs through capturing and converting sunlight into chemical energy (specifically, disassociating and reforming H20).1,2  Stated simply, sunlight produces a beneficial negative charge inside your cells and activates your mitochondria.

In addition to optimizing your mitochondria by practicing sensible sun exposure (or alternatively, using high lux lamps which confer many health benefits), you’ll want to avoid and reduce your exposure to blue spectrum lights from electronic devices like your T.V., LED light bulbs, smartphone and computer, which unlike the  sun do not emit red and orange hues to counter balance the blue spectrum frequencies that suppress your melatonin production and also are a source of nnEMFs.   With many cities rolling out 5G cell phone towers, you’ll also want to cut your use of Wi-Fi to an absolute minimum as it contributes to and worsens  autoimmunity  (I am living proof that reducing and shielding yourself improves autoimmunity as I am fully able and functional and was diagnosed with M.S. 20 years ago and have used several technologies and methods to ground myself for many years.),   mitochondrial dysfunction, damages your DNA  and alters your VGCCs (Voltage Gated Calcium Channels; allowing more calcium ions into your cell membranes which increases oxidative stress), thereby increasing your likelihood of developing many cancers, mental health conditions like anxiety or depression and neurological diseases.

Instead, swap your LED lights for older incandescent light bulbs, install applications like f.lux or twilight on your smart phone if you must do anything with your phone after sunset , use Ethernet cables to connect  your computer to hi-speed internet services, wear amber/orange tinted blue blocking glasses and invest in an Aires Tech or a Safe Sleeve case for your phone and use some red lights (PBM, photobiomodulation) like a Joovv panel or Vielight intranasal device (I’ve been using my Joovv and Vielight 655 with great success).  Therabulb is a low cost red and rear infrared light bulb that is very effective as well. It’s a great option for targeted, precision treatment of a problem area (e.g., knee pain, shoulder pain).

Studies using photobiomodulation with M.S. patients in Brazil, Poland and at the University of Wisconsin have shown promising results.  PBM also has many years of clinical research in the treatment of bone fractures and has been a saving grace in my recovery from the femur fracture I experienced on January 27th 2019 while training for the bike MS in Key Largo, Florida. Similarly,  low level laser therapy lamps  help to improve your blood circulation,  activates your adenosine triphosphate (ATP) (your cells energy or fuel currency) , reduces pain and releases  nitric oxide.3

As an energetic being, you must obey the first law of physics.  By enriching your environment with the right light exposure while reducing your toxisick lights, you’ll stroke the fire that burns inside (i.e., your mitochondria) and recapture your zest for life.

To your health and success,

Dr. Sandoval

How to shield yourself from electrosmog

Are you being Wi-Fried?

Everywhere you go, it’s nearby. Sometimes, it’s in your face (literally), or very close by. When you go to your local gym (E.g., La. Fitness, You Fit), buy groceries (E.g., Whole Foods Market, Publix, Trader Joe’s), eat out at restaurants, and even go to your local park (e.g., Tropical Park, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden).  It entices you with added “convenience” and makes you believe that you cannot live your life without it.  I’m talking about wireless technology and the non-native electromagnetic radiation it emits, of course.  It’s your smart phone, computer, Wi-Fi router, plasma T.V., D.V.D. player, and every modern technology that you use, because they all emit some degree of radiation.  And while many modern technologies allow you to do more, save you time, or experience more “fun”; they also pose a very real and significant risk to your long term healthspan.

The dangers of wireless technology are several (e.g., cancer, neuropsychiatric syndromes, mitochondrial dysfunction, insomnia, autoimmunity, gastrointestinal disease)1,2 and I’ve  shared with you before on the mechanisms by which this wireless, non-native electromagnetic radiation (“eletrosmog”or electromagnetic fields, nnEMFs,  are terms used to refer to the same energy)  harms you in my previous blogs (i.e., How to rekindle the fire that burns inside).  Because our modern world today is highly developed and interconnected, it’s nearly unavoidable.  And while this may be true to a degree depending on your circumstances, you can take several steps to reduce, avoid, or mitigate the harmful effects of this “electrosmog.”

The simplest course of action is to not use any wireless technology or use it as little as possible.  Given that this may not be a feasible answer for you, follow my suggestions below to reduce the levels of many of the physiological and psychological sequela from your use of these technologies.

  1. Instead of using a Wi-Fi Router and a wireless mouse to connect to the internet, opt for Ethernet cables and a wired mouse.
  2. Always unplug your router before going to sleep at night.
  3. Remember that distance is your friend when using any wireless technology. When using your smartphone, always use the speaker phone function or use wired earbuds (blue tooth earbuds emit radiation as well).  Every inch that you keep your phone away from your body reduces the amount of radiation fourfold (i.e., 1in = 4 x less radiation, 2in = 16 x less radiation).
  4. When you do not need to make a call or send a text, keep your phone in airplane mode as this drops the levels of non-ionizing radiation by 84%. Otherwise, I strongly recommend wearing anti-radiation/EMF blocking (Faraday cage) clothing – underwear and bras since many people carry their smartphones in their pant pockets or bra.  I wear Faraday’s briefs, V-Neck shirt and cap.    I have noticed an improvement in my energy and strength training when I go to my local gym that has Wi-Fi.
  5. Keep your phone away from your bedroom when you sleep and charge it in another room.
  6. Consider investing in a Q-Link product.  I have used several Q link products for over a decade and many studies show that it helps to reduce the effects of wireless radiation.
  7. Similar to the Q-Link products, Earthing technologies can help you to mitigate the harmful effects of nnEMFS.  I attribute a portion of my remarkable health to the many earthing products and Q-Link products I own.

For a more detailed explanation of how nnEMFs harm you and more strategies on how to reduce your exposure, I suggest reading The Non-Tinfoil Guide to EMFs: How to Fix Our Stupid Use of Technology by Nicolas Pineault.

concentration difficulties, fatigue. sleep disturbances, Miami holistic health coach, Miami psychologist, mood swings

Are you in need of a Spring cleaning and detox . . .

If you experience fatigue, irritability, problems concentrating or disturbances in your sleep, you may benefit from a Spring cleaning.  Spring is looked upon as a season of renewal and rebirth.  Likewise, your low energy, mood swings, sleep disturbances and difficulties concentrating may be indications of a buildup of toxins and need to clean-up your diet and detox.

Instead of making a shopping list and buying several vitamins and/or supplements, focus on avoiding environmental toxins that science suggests cause cancer  (e.g., GMO foods, Glyphosate, second hand smoke, smoking, chlorine in pools that research shows combines with urine to form dangerous chemicals, fumes) invest in whole, organic foods that are raised without herbicides, pesticides and other synthetic chemicals that damage your health and our planet’s soils and choose to eat animals that are raised humanely and safe to eat.  Not only will you keep your exposure to toxins to a minimum, you will help to build your body’s natural defenses and experience an increase in vitality, clear focus, sound sleep and sense of renewal.

You can build up your body’s defenses, support your immune and detoxification systems by ensuring that you eat adequate amounts of the foods that will give you the building blocks to create glutathione.  Glutathione is an intracellular antioxidant that supports your body’s immune and detoxification systems.  It is made from three amino acids: l-cysteine, l-glutamatic acid, glycine and sulfur. The sulfur in glutathione makes it act like fly trap paper, stick to toxins and safely remove them from your body.

Sulfur containing foods

  • Garlic
  • Kale
  • Onions
  • Broccoli
  • Water cress
  • Cabbage
  • Asparagus
  • Brussel sprouts

Foods containing the amino acids l-cysteine, l-glutamatic acid, glycine

  • Unpasteurized milk (i.e., ideally grass-fed, organic and hormone/antibiotic free)
  • Raw eggs (i.e., from chickens that are pasture raised)
  • Undenatured, cold processed whey protein
  • Tomatoes
  • Avocado
  • Spinach
  • Meats (e.g., beef, lamb, bison, chicken, turkey, wild caught, pasture raised, grass fed, wild caught)

Exercise also helps you build up glutathione.  Aim to get moderate levels of exercise (i.e., 30 minutes several times a week). Stress depletes your body of glutathione so it is important that you learn to manage your levels of stress effectively.  By taking these simple steps, you will reduce your exposure to environmental toxins, help build your body’s natural defenses and experience a renewed sense of vitality.
